Albufeira is a town located in the center of the Algarve. This is one of the most visited places during the summer. The area has been a popular holiday destination since the 60´s and early 70´s. The most genuine area is The Old Town, located in the heart of the city. The area consists of about half a dozen streets that are very characteristic and romantic as well as having a fantastic view of the ocean.
Praia de São Rafael is one of Albufeira´s spectacular beaches filled with golden sand and surrounded by beautiful red and orange colored cliffs. On the Fisherman´s beach you can see the local fishermen arrive with their boats and clear their nets.
Since the city is well visited by tourists, there is of course a great nightlife. On the bar street The Strip, the bars are open until late. If you also like shopping, you are in the right place. Here you find everything from small outlet shops by the beach to large shopping centers. Albufeira Marina also offers a variety of shops, restaurants and cafés along the promenade.
